Parsons Peebles Generation have recently carried out an extensive refurbishment of the test facility at its Rosyth factory.

The major part of the work involved an overhaul of the 40MVA Krammer drive which is used extensively for load testing motors and generators.

There have also been major investments in other parts of the test facility, principally the cooling plant for absorbing waste heat from machines and the test gearbox, and to the vibration recording system which can now provide an improved analysis and diagnostic capability. The large motors currently in manufacture have also required significant investment in the test power cable capability. All of these improvements have enhanced the test capability and ensures Peebles ability to provide one of the most comprehensive motor / generator test facilities in Europe.

The facility is used both by Peebles for testing our own motors and generators, and is also available as a facility for testing machines repaired by others. Contact Service to discuss any testing requirements you may have.
